Group Mediclaim Insurance (GMC) is opted for by Organisations/Associations to provide medical insurance for their employees and can be customised to provide cover for their families as well. Healthy workers are an asset to an organisation. When employees are aware that their employers care for their health, the employees are naturally happy and they tend to add value to their daily tasks.

However, it is important to note that a GMC Policy may have restrictions such as

  • Medical Cover from the policy is valid only as long as the employee works for the Organisation
  • Congenital diseases and treatment of AIDS is not covered
  • Health issues arising due to drug/alcohol abuse is not covered

BENEFITS

  • Covers any In-Patient Hospitalisation with an active line of treatment
  • Maternity coverage benefits are more as it covers normal delivery, C-section and the new-born babies.
  • Pre-acceptance medical check-ups are waived
  • Program may be modified to include cover for Parents as well
  • Pre-existing diseases are covered from the moment the employee joins the Organisation and coverage for diseases is wider.

Add On Covers

  • Non-allopathic treatment options like ayurveda are available as extensions
  • An addition to the sum insured can be made at the start of the policy period for certain families
  • Cover for parents is usually available as an option, with pre-conditions such as age limits, co-payments, etc
  • Corporate Buffer cover can be availed and  invoked by the insured for such employees whose individual sum insured is exhausted due to major illness to self or family members.
